Common Questions About NestQuest Care

Dallas-Fort Worth TX

Your Questions, Answered Honestly. We believe families deserve straight answers.

If you have a question that is not addressed here, call us — We answer directly.

Q1: What is personal assistance care, and is it different from skilled nursing?

Personal assistance services (PAS) and Licensed Home Health Services are different from skilled nursing. Skilled nursing involves medical procedures - wound care, IV therapy, injections - performed by a licensed nurse. NestQuest Care is licensed by Texas HHSC under HCSSA License # 024965 for both Licensed Home Health Services and Personal Assistance Services. Our model is RN-led - a Registered Nurse designs and oversees every care plan - but our caregivers provide personal care and daily living support, not medical procedures. For patients who need skilled nursing, we are happy to connect you with the right resource.

Q4: Is there a cost for the initial consultation?

No. NestQuest Care provides a complimentary in-home RN assessment for every prospective client. A Registered Nurse will meet with you and your loved one, assess care needs, answer clinical questions, and develop a personalized care plan — before you make any commitment.

Q2: How quickly can care begin?

In most cases, we can have a caregiver in your home within 48 hours of your initial consultation. For urgent discharge situations, we work to place care same-day or next-day. Call us — we move as fast as the situation requires.

Q5: I'm a case manager or physician — how do I refer a patient?

Call our referral line directly at 682-966-2435 or fax to 269-399-6093. Every referral is acknowledged within 2 business hours, and you'll receive a 30-day outcome report on every patient you refer to us. Dr. Mbelem is available directly for clinical questions.

Q3: Does NestQuest Care accept Medicare or Medicaid?

NestQuest Care currently accepts private pay, Long-Term Insurance, and VA Benefits (Aid & Attendance). We are building towards Medicare certification and Medicaid waiver participation (STAR+PLUS) in year 2 . If you are seeking Medicare or Medicaid-funded care today, call us. We will help connect you with appropriate resources while we work toward that pathway.

Q6: What happens during the first visit?

Your assigned caregiver arrives at the scheduled time and follows the care plan developed by our RN during the initial assessment. We confirm the visit occurred and check in with the family within 24 hours to make sure everything went smoothly.

Q7: How do you select and screen your caregivers?

Every NestQuest caregiver completes a comprehensive background check, FBI fingerprint screening, OIG federal exclusion verification, TB testing, CPR certification, and a 12-module clinical orientation before their first shift. We conduct ongoing supervision and annual re-verification of all credentials. Our caregivers are not just screened — they are trained to advanced clinical standards set by NestQuest.

Q10: How do you communicate with our family?

Frequently, proactively, and directly. You receive confirmation when care begins. You receive a call if anything changes. You receive a written 30-day outcome update from Dr. Mbelem. You have Dr. Mbelem's direct line for any clinical question. This level of communication is not standard in home care. At NestQuest, it is the only standard we operate by.

Q13: How do I get started?

Call us, fill out our contact form, or send us an email. You will receive a response from Dr. Mbelem within two hours. We will schedule a free in-home consultation, complete a needs assessment, and have a care plan ready before we leave. The process is simple — we handle the complexity.

Q8: Will my loved one have the same caregiver every visit?

We work to maintain caregiver consistency because we know it matters clinically and personally. We match caregivers based on personality, skills, schedule, and geographic proximity. While we cannot guarantee the same caregiver for every shift due to scheduling realities, we minimize transitions — and when a caregiver change is necessary, we introduce the new caregiver personally

Q11: What areas do you serve?

NestQuest Care serves the full Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, including Dallas, Midlothian, Waxahachie, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, Mansfield, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Plano, Frisco, Fort Worth, and surrounding communities. If you are not sure whether we serve your area, call us.

Q14: Are you licensed and insured?

Yes.

NestQuest Care operates under Texas HCSSA License # 024965, issued by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. We carry general liability, professional liability, and workers' compensation insurance. All documentation is available upon request.

Q9: What if the caregiver doesn't show up?

It has never happened at NestQuest — and we intend to keep it that way. Every caregiver has a documented backup. If a callout occurs, a replacement is arranged immediately and the family is notified proactively — before the scheduled visit time, not after.

Q12: What does home care cost?

Home care costs vary based on the number of hours, type of services, and schedule required. We provide a personalized cost estimate during your free consultation after assessing your loved one's needs. NestQuest Care's rates reflect our clinical standards and the quality of care we deliver — we are not the least expensive option, and we are honest about that. Families who choose NestQuest choose quality.

Q15: Can NestQuest Care work alongside an assisted living facility or skilled nursing facility?

Yes. We frequently provide supplemental personal care for residents in assisted living facilities who need additional 1:1 attention beyond what the facility's staffing ratio provides. We also provide transitional care for individuals discharging from skilled nursing facilities back to their homes. Call us to discuss your specific situation.
